The North Haven apparatus fleet consists of 7 pumping engines, 2 aerial ladder trucks, 2 emergency rescue trucks, and 3 command vehicles. These units cover approximately 21 square miles of town and serve over 25,000 residents and their properties. Headquarters company 1 response to all fire related incidents in town along with the corresponding district volunteer company. Additional alarms and mutual aid are activated when needed. All career firefighters are required to attend a certified fire academy where they are trained to FF I, FF II, Haz-Mat operation and several technical rescue certifications. Volunteer firefighters have a minimum of FF I and Haz-Mat Ops. The majority continue on with advance training and certifications. The department continues to support all of our firefighters in a commitment to continue fire based educational programs.
