In February 2012 the department embarked on a $9,200,000.00 building renovation and construction project. Fire headquarters has been upgraded to a four bay fire station and the entire administrative area and living space has been redesigned.
Montowese Volunteer Co #2 is a new 5000 square foot station, with modern size apparatus bays and with a full kitchen, bunk rooms and office areas. West Ridge Co #3 and Northeast Co#4 received new apparatus bays. The existing apparatus areas were converted to a community room and the department training center respectively. Company #4 also houses the office of the Deputy Fire Chief of Operations. Future plans call for a fire ground training center to be located directly behind the Northeast building.
