Take a Lesson in Fire Extinguisher Safety
For General Audience – Free Fire Extinguisher Lessons
Companies interested in learning the different types of fire extinguishers as well as how to operate one can schedule a lesson with the North Haven Fire Department.
A representative of the Fire Department can come to your location or you, your staff and/or a member on your safety committee can schedule a free lesson at the Northeast Fire Station located at 366 Washington Ave., North Haven, CT.
Lessons will take approximately 2 hours. There will be a minimal of 10 and max of 20 people in attendance. There is no charge for this lesson.
It will be the responsibility of your company to provide your staff with a fire extinguisher(s). The extinguisher should be UL Listed between 10-20 lbs. ABC dry chemical. You should be equipped to have 1 extinguisher per 3 employees to use the day of the lesson. Check with your local hardware store(s) for the appropriate fire extinguisher to purchase.
