North Haven Fire Department to Participate in National Fire Prevention Week

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Fire Chief Paul Januszewski is pleased to announce that the North Haven Fire Department will be participating in National Fire Prevention Week, beginning on Sunday.

National Fire Prevention Week is from Oct. 7-13. Members of the North Haven Fire Department will be visiting all four of the town’s elementary schools next week, along with some daycare facilities, to teach children about fire prevention. In addition, they will also be visiting some of the town’s senior housing developments.

In a fire, every second counts. It is important for North Haven residents to know what to do if there is a fire. Fire safety education isn’t just for school children.

This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere,” works to educate people about three ways they can reduce the likelihood of having a fire—and how to escape safely if they have one.
